12 Ways to Cure Your Depression is a fiction short that follows Clem, a Greek botanist living in Paris, as she moves through an inarticulate depression she refuses to name. Living in Paris between an unfinished film, a partner she can no longer fully meet, and sleepless nights at the corner mini-market, Clem begins to study her own condition the way she once studied plants, through tropism, displacement, and the slow grammar of growth. Drawing on Hippocrates' black bile, eighteenth-century botanical illustrations, the Salpêtrière archive, and the diffuse logic of wellness reels, Clem tests remedies that range from hellebore to acupuncture to a return to her father's house in Greece. The film weaves her staged narrative with interview fragments from real people answering a single question: What have you tried to cure your depression? Tender, deadpan, and quietly essayistic, the film is less about finding a cure than about learning to live next to what cannot be cured.
