Small totem (2023)

A contemplative film exercise on time and linearity, inspired by Manolis Anagnostakis' poem "Η αγάπη είναι ο φόβος" (Love is the Fear), unfolds over 20 mesmerizing minutes. The phrase, sculpted from ice, gradually melts into dark soil, symbolizing the transient nature of love and fear. As the ice dissipates, the soil absorbs the words, blending temporality with permanence. This poignant visual is accompanied by a soundscape of quotidian conversations, grounding the ethereal process in the everyday reality. The film invites viewers to reflect on the passage of time, the impermanence of emotions, and the silent persistence of memory.
