I’m excited to have taken part in Panel Discussion #2 at the SCENE Final Event on 3 December, where creators, technologists, and cultural heritage experts came together to imagine the future of European filmmaking. Our panel, “Future-ready tools for a smarter audiovisual ecosystem”, opened up conversations about how emerging technologies, AI, simulation tools, and new collaborative infrastructures, are reshaping the way we produce, experience, and preserve moving images. For me, this was a chance to reflect on how these tools can support more experimental, critical, and culturally anchored film practices rather than replace them. You can watch the recording of the live streaming of the discussion below.

As someone working between Amsterdam and Athens, my own filmmaking and research focus on narrative forms that expand beyond the traditional screen. I’m looking forward to expand the discussion of how next-generation technologies can empower filmmakers to build richer audiovisual worlds while keeping artistic intention and cultural context at the center. Joining a panel of brilliant professionals from production, VR, cultural innovation, and high-performance computing made this dialogue even more stimulating, especially as SCENE showcases its final insights and tools that aim to transform Europe’s audiovisual ecosystem.
